Layoffs abounding here in SO

It just get more scary everyday ...
Randy work laid off 29 on Tuesday
My dads work Laid off 130 or was it 160 yesterday
another pretty good sized employer laid off 60 yesterday
My older brother has already been laid off for a while (it pretty much a normal winter thing for him though)
My younger brother was laid off about 9 months ago ( he is going to beauty school)
Very dismal indeed...... Those poor families...Hopefully things will have turned around by the time they get off unemployment....
We are hoping Randy's job is ok but in times like these a person can never be sure...So we are tightening the belt another notch ...only putting the minumim in 401k till the house in town is paid off.... we know the house will generate a small rental income for us, even if we have to lower the rent and get a HUD renter or say have 3 people rent rooms and share the main living quarters, seems wierd to even be thinking like that, but these are hard times ....
I hope in March when we take Rylan to the urologist they say he has out grown his reflux... A huge surgery bill is really not needed right now, but then on the other hand it may be best to have it done, while we still have insurance..... again we are pretty sure Randys job is secure, but in times like these a person just never knows .....
