My CT Monday showed
I am symmetrically aerated, both lungs but I have
symmetrical diminished aeration of both lungs on the expiratory views...
and I have Mild platelike atelactasis in the lower left lung ....
My blood work from last weeks shows slightly elevated WBC this after just getting off a Zpack a week after Christmas ...so I am now on a stronger antibiotic levaquin in hopes that if I am having a little pneumonia causing the atelactasis clearing it up will fix it and me up........ I am also being referred to the pulmonoaligist and I also have mild Pulmanary hypertension (34) and my heart is slightly enlarged .
Maybe there is a light at the end of the tunnel for me I can only hope :-)
I am so happy its not cancer... At least now I know that there is something wrong, gosh for a while I have been wondering if I was imagining it or something ...I am also taking a small amount of prednisone and mucinex to hopfully open up the airways and clear out any mucus that maybe stuck in the atelatasis ..

+++ vibes that the antibiotic will fix the problem. I think I told you Zpack was the first antibiotic Rick was on and it wasn't strong enough and he had to have a much stronger antibiotic 3x a day for 14days because he was so close to walking pneumonia.

LaDawn, I'm glad it is nothing more serious.

You may want to talk to your doctor about starting bone density tests every two years if you haven't already. Steroids have a side effect on bone density in addition to what aging does so you need to keep an eye on it.

I will do that Sherri I have only been on the steroids for small spurts like 3 times I think so far..when I read last weak that its speeds up the aging process I was not happy LOL ...
Chele yes you did tell me that.. I am so hopful that what they have me on will work..
